Trying to score a goal with a car sounds ridiculous until you get into a match of Turball.io. The game puts you behind the wheel and drops a giant ball into an arena, where the other team is trying to do exactly what you are. You can ram the ball, launch your car into the air, and use turbo to chase down shots that would otherwise get away. Best of all, it runs right in your browser, so there's no download to deal with.
Hitting the Ball Takes Practice
Driving straight at the ball will only get you so far. Your speed matters because a fast-moving car can send the ball flying, while a slow bump might barely move it. Jumping and flipping forward just before contact can produce a much stronger shot. Get the timing wrong, though, and you might sail past the ball while your opponent takes possession.
Keep an eye on the boost pads scattered across the arena. They refill your turbo, which is useful when you need to catch up with the play or race back toward your own goal. The curved walls are worth using as well. Driving up them lets you chase airborne balls and interrupt clears before they become dangerous.
Don't Forget About Defense
It is tempting to follow the ball everywhere, especially when there's an open chance to score. But leaving your goal unguarded can cost you a point in seconds. Sometimes parking yourself between the ball and the net is the smarter move, particularly when an opponent is lining up a shot.
