About PokéBonk

PokéBonk puts you in control of a Pokémon surrounded by enemies, and the crowd only gets bigger as the run goes on. It has the feel of a classic survival game, but everything takes place in a colorful 3D world. Your Pokémon handles its attacks automatically, so most of your attention goes toward finding safe paths, avoiding enemy groups, and deciding when to use your Ultimate Move.

At the beginning, you can pick Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle. Once you're familiar with the game, there are several modes to try. Classic sends you through different zones, while Survival challenges you to stay alive for as long as possible. You can also try Dark Night, Quarry, Bonk, or bring friends into an eight-player co-op session.

Don't Ignore That Countdown

One thing that can ruin a promising run is the Doom timer. You need to find an altar and activate it to summon a Guardian boss, with Snorlax and Gyarados among the possible opponents. Beat the boss before the countdown reaches zero. Otherwise, enemies will keep flooding the map until there's barely anywhere left to move.

Gengar Shrines offer another risky choice. Activating one increases your experience and item drops, but the enemies become stronger. Breaking gold rocks is less dangerous and gives you nuggets to spend at the shop.

Four Moves Can Change Everything

Each level-up brings a selection of upgrade cards. You can carry four active moves, improve their strength, and fuse compatible abilities into more powerful attacks. Vitamins take care of passive bonuses such as health, movement speed, and damage. Artifacts work differently: you find them in Pokéballs and chests, and there's no fixed limit to how many you can collect.

Not every upgrade card will be useful. You can remove unwanted choices with Banish or skip an upgrade and save your chances for later.

A Lot More Than Three Starters

Research Points gradually unlock new Pokémon, including legendary names such as Mew, Mewtwo, Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres. There are 79 playable starters to collect, covering all 151 original Kanto Pokémon. Runs also reward Lab Points and Stardust, which can be spent on permanent improvements at the lab, even when you don't make it to the end.
