About Cutle
Cutle is a tiny browser puzzle built around a surprisingly awkward question: can you cut a strange shape into two equal pieces? The rules are simple, but getting close to a perfect 50:50 split takes a good eye and a bit of patience. Every day brings a different shape, so yesterday's solution won't help much today.
One Shape, One Serious Cut
The puzzle gives you a solid-colored shape with an odd outline. You draw one straight line all the way through it, choosing whatever angle seems right. Once the cut is made, the game checks how evenly the area was divided.
You don't actually need an exact mathematical 50:50. A result of 48:52 or better counts as a win, which gives you a little room for error. The problem is figuring out where that line should go before committing to it.
Look at the Whole Shape
Symmetry isn't always going to save you. Some shapes have narrow ends, heavy sections, or awkward curves that make a horizontal cut a terrible choice. Looking at where the shape seems visually balanced can help you find a better starting point, and diagonal cuts are often worth considering.
Don't Waste the Daily Attempt
There is one official daily attempt, with the puzzle changing at midnight UTC. Once that chance is over, you can still spend time with the archive and experiment with different cuts.
That is pretty much the charm of Cutle. There are no complicated rules or huge objectives—just a weird shape, one straight line, and the satisfaction of getting surprisingly close to the middle.
