Brotato
About Brotato
Nobody expects a potato to save the day, especially when an entire arena is filling up with angry aliens. Yet that's the strange situation Brotato puts you in. You control a little armed potato that can carry six weapons at once, and your job is to make it through 20 increasingly nasty waves without getting overwhelmed. It sounds simple until the enemies start coming from every direction.
Surviving Is Harder Than It Looks
Most of the time, your weapons handle the shooting automatically whenever enemies get close. That means you can spend your attention dodging, slipping through gaps, and avoiding situations where there's nowhere left to run. Manual aiming is available as an alternative in the settings for anyone who prefers having direct control over their shots.
Every defeated creature leaves behind materials. Don't ignore them, because they're useful for more than just leveling up. Between rounds, you'll spend them in the shop, choosing fresh weapons, buying equipment, improving your existing gear, or rerolling the selection. Each wave lasts between 20 and 90 seconds, so a complete run rarely takes longer than half an hour.
Six Slots Mean Six Important Decisions
There are up to 44 characters to unlock and experiment with, including Farmer, Ghost, Speedy, Doctor, and One Armed. Their different attributes can completely change how a run develops. You also have to think about your weapon combination. Carrying six SMGs or six swords creates a more focused setup, while combining two identical weapons of the same rarity produces a stronger version.
Your priorities should change as the invasion progresses. During the opening waves, Luck and Harvesting can help build up resources. From waves 6 to 15, stronger damage becomes increasingly important. Once the final enemies arrive, defensive upgrades such as Armor, Dodge, and health regeneration may be what keep you alive.
One small detail worth remembering: trees can drop healing fruit when destroyed. Save those pickups until you actually need the health.
Wave 20 brings the final boss, so don't expect your earlier victories to guarantee an easy finish. Brotato is at its best when a promising run suddenly turns into a desperate fight for survival.
